Beverly, Massachusetts is a quaint seaside city on what is called the North Shore. The city is about 20 miles north of Boston and has plentiful beaches and parks, and a golf course. It is further conveniently located right off Route 128, which itself leads into Interstate 95. There is also commuter rail, with regular service to Boston's North Station, and Boston's Logan Airport is conveniently located a short distance away in East Boston.

There are currently about 40,000 people living in Beverly, and a little more than 16,000 housing units. It is also more than 80% Caucasian.

Schools

Among these are New England Academy, Harborlight-Stoneridge Montessori School, Kindercare Learning Center, Beverly School for the Deaf, Saints Academy, the Bright Horizons School, The Waring School, Glen Urquhart School, Shore Country Day and Mrs. Alexander's School. The city further has two colleges: Endicott College, which sits directly on the ocean, and Montserrat College of Art, which is a visual arts school.

Surrounding Locales

In addition to Boston being only a half-hour away by car or train, there are other interesting cities near Beverly. This includes its neighbor to the south: Salem, with its eclectic downtown area, and Peabody, which is west of Beverly and has a large shopping mall and a variety of other stores and restaurants. To the north of Beverly is Manchester-by-the-sea, which is a picturesque village recently made famous in a movie by Kenneth Lonergan.
